On 1st November 2013, the Corporation hosted a golf tournament at the Nyali Golf and Country Club, Mombasa where the county government and the business community in the region were in attendance.

The tournament was the climax of ICDC Board of Directors' investment tour to the coastal region where they visited the Corporation's existing projects in the region.
The investment tour gave the Board an opportunity to meet with the County governments of Kilifi and Mombasa, opinion leaders, and the business community in general.? Many ideas on the developmental aspirations of the region as well as partnership opportunities were shared.

The Corporation has financed a number of developmental projects which creating jobs and wealth for Kenyans in the coastal region. Among them include the Organic Growers & Packers EPZA Limited, a fruit puree processing plant being set up in Msabaha, Kilifi county. This plant will give over 30,000 smallholder fruit farmers in the region a ready market for their produce.
Another of the existing projects by ICDC in the region is the FOCUS Container Freight Station that serves the Mombasa port, helping to alleviate congestion at the port.
ICDC is also developing residential apartments for sale at Nyali in a bid to play its part in reducing the annual housing shortage in the country.
