Eliud Kwoba Sifuna
Mr. Eliud Kwoba Sifuna was appointed to the Board in September 2018.
He is a Chemical Engineer registered with the Engineers Registration Board - Kenya and has over 32 years professional and technical experience in Mining, Manufacturing, Production and Operations where he has been a team leader using lean manufacturing practises to manage costs and optimize operational efficiencies in various companies.? He is a continuous improvement initiative (CII) expert with proven tangible footprints.
Mr. Sifuna worked with Magadi Soda for 18 years holding various positions including the position of Technical/Corprate Development Manager. Whilst there, he served on the Kenya Bureau of Standards technical steering committee?on table, kitchen and livestock salt for over a decade. Due to his training and experience, he participated in the chemical engineering degree and diploma syllabus development for Moi university and several polytechnics in Kenya.? He also worked with Pan African Paper Mills, Webuye as a Chemical Engineer?and with East African Portland Cement as a Plant Technologist in the production of cement.?
On? a competitive confederation of British Industries (CBI) scholarship,?which encompassed an exchange program between Magadi Soda Company and Brunner Mond UK, Mr Sifuna worked with Brunner Mond Plc's largest soda ash manufacturing company in Britain.? He gained valuable experience in Flue gas treatment, control and management of industrial flue gas emissions.? On the auspices of United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) he also worked in India with large energy user cement and paper manufacturers on energy utilization, management and optimization.
Currently, Mr. Sifuna is a partner and Operations director with Lusike Engineering Ltd, an engineering consulting firm in western Kenya.
He holds a Master of Science degree in Chemical engineering from Mendeleev Chemical Engineering Institute, Moscow Russia.
